Our sitters.

The people you are actually trusting.

Your pet is only as safe as the person caring for them. So we are careful about who wears the Sterling name. Every sitter is vetted, experienced, insured, and chosen because they treat animals like their own.

A calm, experienced sitter greeting a dog at eye level

We turn away most people who apply.

Loving animals is the easy part. Everyone who applies says that. We look for proof. Real experience, real references, and the kind of judgment that only comes from years caring for animals that are not your own. Most applicants do not make it through. The ones who do are the people we would trust with our own pets.

Professionals, not hobbyists.

Many of our sitters are vet techs or animal health professionals. Others are seasoned sitters, shelter and rescue veterans, and people who have spent years handling animals with real needs. What they share is experience you can feel and a calm that animals trust. All of them are background-checked and insured.

How someone becomes a Sterling sitter.

01

Application and screening.

We start with experience. No track record, no interview.

02

Background check.

Every sitter clears a criminal background check before they meet a single pet.

03

Interview and references.

We talk with them, and we talk to the people who trusted them before us.

04

Meet and observe.

We watch how they handle animals before we ever put a client's pet in their care.

Only after all of that does anyone care for your pet.

Ready to meet yours?

Request a consultation. We'll come meet you and your pet, learn the routine, and match you with the right sitter. Want to meet them in person too? You can add a pre-stay meet and greet.
